At Northbridge Optical, we believe providing exceptional eye care means staying actively connected with the forefront of the eye health community. Continuous learning allows us to bring the most advanced clinical evidence and treatments straight back to our local community.
To ensure we are continually delivering optimal care, our optometrists, Tina and Sophie, recently spent an evening attending an exclusive, small-group continuing education session led by the highly regarded ophthalmologist Dr Tanya Trinh at Lumiere Vision in Cremorne.

Direct Access to Specialist Knowledge
Dr Tanya Trinh is a widely respected ophthalmologist known for her specialist work in complex ocular surface diseases and anterior eye conditions. This intimate masterclass gave Tina and Sophie direct, hands-on access to her advanced clinical insights, focusing heavily on three core areas that significantly impact our patients:
1. The Latest Innovations in Dry Eye Management
Dry eye disease is an increasingly common issue for many of our patients. The session highlighted new diagnostic pathways and next-generation technologies that allow us to tailor treatment plans with absolute precision, moving away from generic “one-size-fits-all” approaches.
2. Refining IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatment Protocols
We reviewed and refined treatment protocols for Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy. This is particularly crucial for patients suffering from Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) and chronic dry eye, ensuring we maximise therapeutic outcomes and provide lasting comfort.

3. Hands-On Corneal Foreign Body Removal
Beyond dry eye, the team participated in a practical workshop focused on advanced clinical skills for safely and confidently managing corneal foreign body removals and injuries directly in our practice.
